Funny Things: The Iliad, Part One
My summary of when Menelaus gets hit by Laodocus' arrow:
Agamemnon, weeping: "Dear, dear brother. You've been hit, it's all my fault. Now we'll lose, they'll keep Helen, and you'll be dead, and your bones will rot, the Trojans are going to climb and desecrate your glorious grave, and , and . . . and . . . and . . . ." *continues weeping*
Menelaus: "Dude, I'm fine. The arrow didn't even go in."
Agamemnon: "Oh, right. Well, we'll have the doctors look at it anyway––for the pain, you know, and all that."
*The Iliad, by Homer, translated by Stanley Lombardo; some places taken verbatim
